Welcome
Welcome to Labouring the Landscape, a photography exhibition
celebrating work created during lockdown by a group of local people from the
West Coast of Cumbria.
The exhibition is part of a wider project of the same name lead by photographer Robert Parkinson with Signal Film & Media. From the beginning of the course, the group were encouraged to develop their own photographic eye and interests through a series of “challenges”. These challenges were designed to inspire ideas and new ways of taking photographs. Taking place during lockdown, this process often involved the group working within their homes, and learning to see this familiar space & their immediate surroundings through a different lens.
All of the images in this exhibition can be moved and so we encourage you to have a go at curating the images in the gallery. You can also try some of the challenges yourself! For the best experience we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to view this exhibition.
